Tili Pamodzi Initiative | Stronger together!

As the Project Coordinator at Validus Circle Malawi, one of the most exciting projects I’m leading this year is the Tili Pamodzi (meaning “Together We Are One” in Chichewa) Initiative , a youth empowerment program designed to shape confident, skilled, and socially responsible young leaders across Malawi.

In Malawi, over half of our population is under 18. This is a powerful opportunity, but also a challenge. Many young people face barriers such as limited access to quality education, scarce employment opportunities, and few safe spaces to grow their leadership potential. The Tili Pamodzi Initiative aims to change that.

Through youth clubs in both private and government schools, we’re equipping young people aged 13–20 with the skills they need to thrive — from entrepreneurship and financial literacy to leadership and civic engagement. We focus on marginalized groups, especially rural youth, girls, and youth living with disabilities, ensuring no one is left behind.

Over the course of a year, participating youth will:

  • Gain practical business skills and create their own business plans
  • Learn how to manage money and explore income-generating ideas
  • Build leadership and public speaking skills
  • Engage in community service and environmental projects
  • Network with mentors, professionals, and peers across Malawi

By the end of the first phase, we expect to have trained 300+ youth, launched 10 youth engagement platforms, and inspired dozens of youth-led initiatives that strengthen communities and open career opportunities.

This is more than a program — it’s an investment in Malawi’s future. And you can be part of it.

Support the Tili Pamodzi Initiative: Your contribution will help us provide training materials, transport, mentorship, and safe spaces for these young leaders.
